There’s the crime of walking while black, driving while black and now being president while black. This impeachment for no reason business is going on in hundreds of Republican town halls all over America. Driven by Glenn Beck, Rush Limbaugh, Fox News and above all, the Tea Party. This is a sitting Senator not up for reelection, and a friend of the President, playing right into it. What are the high crimes and misdemeanors? That never enters into it.
The sign above takes me back to my childhood when there were thousands of IMPEACH EARL WARREN signs just like it put up by the Tea Party of the 1950’s, the John Birch Society. They suddenly appeared a few months after Chief Justice Earl Warren managed to get a 9 to 0 decision on Brown vs Board of Education which make segregation in schools illegal. Under the equal protection clause of the 14th Amendment. Of course that too, just like the sign above, had nothing to do with race.
Oh no they say, Obamacare is socialism. Obamacare is what the Republican Revolution gave us in response to Hillarycare in 1994. And if you don’t want to go back that far, it’s the same thing as Republican Romneycare in Massachusetts in 2006, and the very same thing suggested by Newt Gingrich in 2008. Obamacare is a Republican idea that suddenly became communism. Why is that you think? We all know damn well why.
