He’s not a ‘Sharp Dressed Man’ but as comedian and songstress Lauren Mayer knows, Rand Paul is a ‘Sharp Tongued Man’ – a message her song conveys in the style of ZZ Top. Mayer reasons that if Rand Paul can pose as a ‘different candidate’ there is no reason why she can’t pose as the bearded Texans – and she’s right. Likewise, if Rand Paul can morph from Libertarian to Republican, I can pose as Beyonce’ – but no one is going to buy that either.
Paul famously launched his campaign with the rough side of his tongue on Wednesday. People are going to ask questions when a candidate has campaigned on certain set policies and beliefs, then sheds them like a snake sheds his skin. You can’t fault people for asking questions about Rand Paul’s newly adopted issues and policies…Someone should have told him to expect a few inquiries lest folks believe he speaks with forked tongue.
On Wednesday morning Paul yelled over the top of ‘Today’ show anchor Savannah Guthrie, when she pressed him on his major shifts in positions over the years. If Paul had stuck his fingers in his ears while he shouted over her, he would not have been any more rude or ridiculous. Later that day, AP reporter Philip Elliot asked him about the glaring contradictions in his positions on abortion legislation. Rand Paul became abrasive, and evaded the question – once again.
The cranky obstreperous Paul even received harsh criticism from the beloved mother ship FOX News, for his performance. In an unusual show of fairness, Megyn Kelly condemned Rand Paul for his behavior saying:
“Those women were not yelling at you.” Kelly further chided Paul for shushing Savannah Guthrie on Wednesday’s edition of the Kelly File, and for being ‘overly emotional.’
