The Schism in the Republican Party has never been so obvious. They are torn between lying through their teeth to minorities in an effort to win their votes, and voicing their actual views of people whose skin is darker than their own.
One such glitch happened with the Gohmert got off of his chain last month on C-Span’s Washington Journal. “We know Al Qaeda has camps with the drug cartels on the Mexican border,” said Texas congressman Gohmert, and “we know that people are now being trained to come in and act like Hispanic, when they are radical Islamists.”
Much more interesting is the response of comedian George Lopez, which is included in its entirety in the video. In part, Lopez replied, “Louie Gohmert, you’re fking crazy, dude. You’re crazy, man.” Lopez said the idea that “acting Latino” would make it easier for a terrorist to enter the country is “ridiculous.” Lopez assured Gohmerites that ‘We love this country, we’re not going to blow it up.”
