Tina Fey has never been afraid to ‘go there’ – not on SNL when she lampooned the former Vice Presidential beehive from Alaska – and not tonight, when she takes it all off, to give Dave Letterman a spectacular send-off. As Dave counts the days until his final show, people he especially likes have been stopping by. Both the President and First Lady have visited and made plans to hang out and maybe play dominoes after their time is freed up…But no one has gone quite as far to be memorable as Tina Fey.
Years ago, Dave was famously flashed by Drew Barrymore, and recently Amy Schuler dared to share a special part of herself on air – but Tina Fey will be memorable for another reason. Dave notes appreciatively that Tina looks terrific in a blue dress (yes, we’re sure it’s blue) and heels.
Tina explains:
“Because this is my last time wearing a fancy dress on a talk show and conforming to gender norms out of respect for you, my gift to you – is I want to give you the dress.”
Tina points out that there is no reason to dress up to play charades, and dressing up for Jimmy would ‘be creepy’ because ‘he’s like, my brother.’ Oh, and sorry, James Cordon, she’s not wearing ‘special underwear’ for you either. Warning. Your idea of ‘special underwear’ may soon change. Besides, she explains – the contraptions under here are almost medical…And they are. That effortless little dress hides a lot of scary looking gear, and a special message for Dave.
