The television barrage by Bush cronies, none of whom are interrogation experts, claim that torture helped Navy SEAL Team 6 locate Bin Ladin. This load of elephant dung is refuted by highly knowledgeable people in the field of interrogation. Their methods are known to be effective, and do not resemble the "enhanced interrogation" of sadistic amateurs Rumsfeld and Cheney.

Those who are experts such as Mathew Alexander know without a doubt that the Bush reliance on torture did irreparable harm, left Osama bin Laden free, and gleaned nothing of use. Using the military’s own literature, the last paragraph sums up the efficiency of torture.

"The use of force by the US may also have caused short and long term damage to US interests and credibility. some of which may not be known. The preponderance of reports seems to weigh against their effectiveness"
