Donald Trump’s federal budget plan proposes large funding cuts with negative consequences. John Oliver examines the troubling priorities of the new administration. The departments for which Trump’s budget would dramatically raise,or retain funding scroll by very quickly:Dept.of Defense, Homeland Security, Veterans Affairs, and the Social Security Administration. However, budget cuts are seemingly without end:”They scroll by like ‘the end credits for America” observes Oliver.
Trump’s budget isn’t only short sighted, but it doesn’t make fiscal sense. Public Broadcasting cuts a whopping .002% out of the budget! On a similar note, the EPA takes a greedy .2%. You can’t put a price on theĀ innumerable programs that will be swept up and thrown in the dustbin of this mad budget ‘plan.’
Trump once hired someone to write ‘The Art of the Deal.’ Perhaps he should read it sometime.
“You can’t con people, at least not for long. You can create excitement, you can do wonderful promotion and Get all kinds of press, and you can thrown in a little hyperbole. But if you don’t deliver the goods, people will reverentially catch on.”
John: “It’s taking longer than ideal, but soon all of us will be fed up, right up to the tippy tippy top.”
