If you did not watch this speech, you should suffer through it. It is not so much any of those specific things as it is his body language taken from Benito Mussolini, his paper waving and ugly personal attacks so reminiscent of Joe McCarthy, his angry enemies list like Richard Nixon but above all, making this speech and the presidency only about himself. For 20 long minutes the President of the United States – not a 400 pound internet troll in his mother’s basement – spent waving his important piece of paper around in the air while claiming it vindicated him from saying what he said about Charlottesville.
