In an effort to keep up with Donald Trump’s activity on social media, Seth Meyers is introducing a segment called ‘Tweetin’ with the Prez‘ in which Seth will scroll through presidential tweets to see what’s up with the nation, the world and in Trump’s recent feuds. Technology changes quickly, and Seth observes, it’s a little bit like FDR’s ‘Fireside Chats’ but with alterations: “The only thing we have to fear is fear itself” – and Mexicans, they’re not bringing their best. Seth’s amusing piece almost makes you forget that it’s our country in which a barely literate moron expects the world to tune into his Twitter feed daily to sift through conspiracy theories and bragging to locate official White House info and swag.
It sometimes feels as if we’re all unpaid extras in Trump’s new reality show, and I promise not to be a spoiler, if you will be sure to see what the Trump ‘show’ pulled off last Wednesday! Trump summoned the heads of every major tech company, with the exception of one. Twitter, which is obviously so close to Trump’s shriveled little heart, was not invited. You see,Trump is punishing Twitter for disobeying him during the presidential campaign. It is simply unfathomable – to Trump, that the brains at Twitter decided his idea wasn’t such a hot one. As Seth observes, Twitter has done something nice for The Donald, even if he doesn’t know it just yet!
