Seth Meyers takes ‘A Closer Look’ at Donald Trump’s proposal to ban Muslims from entering the US, and his plans to censor or shut down the internet. Now it’s getting personal!
Seth takes the mystery out of Trump’s big announcement. The latest Iowa poll results are the big tip-off, which came out very shortly before Trump launched his assault on good sense and religious liberty on Tuesday. Trump saw Ted Cruz leap ahead in the polls and quickly hit three morning shows with his crazy announcement, and he is still dominating cable news. If there’s one area where Trump shines, it’s free publicity. Where Trump fails is in a more more important and far-reaching area. Trump’s blast was heard world-wide, and although he doesn’t speak for this country, some might believe he does.
Hilariously, Trump announced plans to ask Bill Gates to help him ‘shut off’ the “dangerous” internet, like a water main. I’d love to be a fly on the wall in that meeting. In not-so- funny news, Trump thinks the Japanese internment camps of WW2 were a crowning achievement to be replicated, and not a national nightmare and disgrace.
I’m so hard on the man, he isn’t entirely without plans. To keep terrorists out, he will just ask people if they are Muslim. This of course implies all Muslims are terrorists and that all terrorist are – scrupulously honest. How can anyone be so stupid yet run for the highest office in the land!? Oh yes, money! Lots of it. Mercifully, Seth puts it all into perspective.
