Vermont became the first state to legislate gay marriage rather than adjudicate it by overriding Republican Governor Jim Douglas’ veto 100 to 49.
The Republican Governor, with the help of Republican 2012 Presidential Candidate Newt Gingrich (he is taking an early lead) are on the cutting edge of putting that new face on the GOP. Newt said that giving gay couples equal protection under the law – you know, giving other Americans the same rights he enjoys – was "Outrageously Wrong!"
This on the heels of yesterday’s Gingrich pronouncement that Iowa’s Supreme Court ruling allowing gays to marry was "Judicial Arrogance!"
This just two days after Newt said that if he were President and North Korea launched one their CrazyDong Missiles or Iran was enriching uranium TOMORROW, he would bomb them TODAY. Oh Joy!
