The Fourth of July, the day we party, blow things up, and cement hostile relations with our neighbors yearly. We do this as a day of great national pride, to celebrate winning our
independence from …hold on, it’s on the tip of my tongue! You may be surprised to learn that a disturbing number of Americans weren’t certain about that wee detail, while others were under the impression that we won our independence from France, others believe it was China, still others think it was Japan, Mexico, and even Spain! Oh, and don’t blame the kids, you’ll be surprised to hear which age group failed most dismally, or began the festivities way too early.
Silver: Gov Jan Brewer R-AZ is – as usual, raving on about illegal immigration, that popular tune in Arizona which started with claims of jobs being lost to immigrants and is now being blamed for all of the ills of humanity. Brewer, carried away in attempting to paint a broad picture of the perils brought by immigrants has caused her spokesman to back peddle gamely at lightening speed, but to no avail! Like many who seek to prove a point, Brewer didn’t bother to simply google her information on the grisly findings of beheaded bodies in the desert. Yes, it’s ghastly, it’s horrid, it’s lawless, but it’s not been found in Arizona, or in the United
States. Nice try (again) Gov. Brewer.
Bronze : Louie Gohmert R-TX! If it weren’t for Gohmert sayin’ Hey, we would still be in the dark about…Terror Babies! The babes in question don’t have tiny explosives in their Huggies, just an American citizenship…it’s a scandal, according to the Gohmerts and friends, and possibly a threat to national security!
