The way our election process works is that if Hillary Clinton does not win in 2016, the Republicans will not only take more seats in the House, enough new seats in the Senate to make them filibuster proof and within a few years increase their control of the Supreme Court by two, making most decisions 7 to 2 in favor of the Koch Brothers, NRA Jesus, war and white over common sense. Emigration will no longer be an idle angry political threat but a necessity for tens of millions of Americans.
If the worst happens, packing up and leaving must be done before they take power, for they will do what they can to secure our borders in the opposite direction, keeping some of us from going where we want.
So between the election results on November 8th 2016 and when Congress and the new president come to power on January 20th 2017 you will have only 72 days to get a passport, sell your stuff, do your finances, get the proper visas, qualify for political asylum, work permits, change of address forms and get the fk out of here before it’s too late.
Being retired and not needing to work I am now looking at the most obvious choice, nearby Cuba as my landing point. Better beaches, healthcare and costs than here. There is little doubt that the Republicans will close that choice p on January 21 if they win. So even this far out from the election some modicum of planning for the worst should be on your todo list.
On the other hand, if Hillary wins, her pants suit tails will more than likely take back the Senate, take back 30 or 40 House seats and she will get to replace one or two Republican Supreme Court justices which will change everything for a generation. So it is IN FACT the biggest most important election in my lifetime, and probably the most important election since 1860. Vote or die.
