Where does one draw the line on which religion is better than the others? Or better yet, when does scripture in any religious tome go so far over the top it becomes too silly or disgusting to heed?
One could point to the very foundation of the Bible in which God tells a man to slit his son’s throat – which the man of course accepts because voices on high told him too – but then at the last minute God laughs and says the jokes on you, just kidding! Wow now there is heavy foundation for heavy crapola, let me tell you. Same thing happened about a mile away here a few years ago down here in Dumbutt, Texas. A women drown all her kids for the same reason, except God forgot to tell her the joke…
But for me personally it was the scripture where God directs a mob to stone an old man to death for starting a fire (to cook a chicken) on the Sabbath, which they joyously do with Moses in the lead! That’s it for me – no getting around that one. Time to chuck that crap and look for something more credible and deserving, like Scientology…
"And while the children of Israel were in the wilderness, they found a man that gathered sticks upon the Sabbath day. And they that found him gathering sticks brought him unto Moses and Aaron, and unto all the congregation. And they put him in ward, because it was not declared what should be done to him. And the Lord said unto Moses, The man shall be surely put to death: All the congregation shall stone him with stones without the camp.
