Seth Meyers takes a closer look at the radical white nationals who are in Donald Trump’s corner; but finds that Trump may be too extreme for the KKK! When you think of loathsome racists, the KKK comes to mind, but the group’s former leader David Duke believes Trump is more radical than he is. Seth quips; “that’s David Duke saying; ‘me, I’m KKK, he’s like KKKKKaaaay – OKay?'”
Proof that radical whites love Trump comes in the form of robocalls in Trump’s behalf from white supremacist groups. In a recorded argument against (all but pale) immigrants, the group White Reconnaissance drones: “We need smart, well-educated white people who will assimilate to our culture.” The argument is soon deflated by the complaint: “Ordinary white folks are sick of having to press one for Spanish.”
Seth paints a fair and hilarious portrait of the bigoted goofballs who love Trump for their own greedy reasons, but he is fair. A recent outburst from Maine’s Governor Paul LePage is fairly representative of Republican bias as it is now, and has been historically. ‘D-Money, Shifty and Smoothie’ live in their collective imagination, trafficking drugs and impregnating ‘young white girls.’
In Trump, the GOP has gotten exactly what they’ve always appeared to want, and he’s certainly what they deserve.
I love the smell of Schadenfreude in the morning, don’t you?
