Will Republicans let Sarah Palin pull the trigger on Big Bird?

Though the Star of Palin is fading fast, she is still well armed!

I remember not that long ago when the Republican’s were crying JOBS JOBS JOBS. They even got elected screaming about  JOBS JOBS JOBS.

So what to they do once they take over? Kill JOBS for state employees, kill JOBS for federal employees, kill JOBS for federally funded groups. Not to mention stealing education from our children, removing rights from mothers, busting unions, deregulating financials for their bankers and the EPA for their oil and gas pals, and of course giving ever larger tax breaks to those on the top. And most American voters vote for them. Really! I am not kidding! It’s not a science fiction story. People allow jealousy, hatred, vindictiveness, bigotry and ignorance to vote against their own self interest.

So how are the Republicans now getting away with the destruction of unions?

We so often hear in the debate of who makes more, private sector or public sector. Raw numbers show about a 7% better deal in the public sector than private sector in benefits, while wages seem to be even. The problem is there are so many state and federal jobs that have no private sector equivalent. And if wages and benefits are considered to educational levels, then the private sector makes substantially more in both, making it all irrelevant.

Republicans are very aware of that EDUCATIONAL thing which they have successfully used to gain control for a generation. It is not just trying to remove evolution from science classes or slavery from history books. My God, Phyllis Schlfaly spent years trying to remove GEOGRAPHY from public schools. Dick Armey spent his time in Congress as the loudest voice against HEAD START. Its Republicans who want to increase interest on student loans while the jack up tuition costs and reduce grants and scholarships. They even want to destroy public education for christ’s sake. Republicans are no friend of teachers, college professors, scientists, or most anyone smarter than Joe the Plumber.

Republican Scott Walker understands. Stroke that jealousy to pit the under educated blue collar Republican Base against the American ELITE. That ELITE has been redefined not as Republican Bankers or Republican Energy Companies, or Republican Wall Street Brokers, but believe it or not, as teachers, fireman, motor vehicle department clerks, court stenographers,  social workers, unemployment counselors. They get away with this swill because as long as they keep their Republican Base ignorant their propaganda of fear and hate works for them.

Case in point. How many smart people do you know watching Fox News? Or listening to Glenn Beck, or tuning in NPR at drive time? NONE!
