At least twelve current news headlines can be written about the Russian connections of Trump and his toadies – this week alone! Keith Olbermann lists the most damning headlines, and makes a case that it’s time for members of the Republican party to grow a pair! Olbermann’s language is far more eloquent, but in the end, the responsibility for the idiot in the Oval Office lies with the party that is still standing behind him, practicing their poker faces as he embarrasses and frightens us by turns.
No one should be surprised by the bizarre turn in Trump’s twitter feed, just as links tying him to his Russian connections are tightening. It’s all classic Trump..And Republicans know it too. Why do they pretend to see no evil, hear no evil, and well…they still speak it – they’re Republicans, but they have a blind spot when it comes to Donald Trump.
By way of illustration, Keith points to two other instances in history; slavery and the days before World War Two. In each, a political party opposed intervention and stuck to personal politics and the evils of inaction. We’re told that those men took the fall. “Not one survived the political apocalypse that followed their amorality.” Keith warns: “So too, will the gutless Republicans take the fall for enabling this treason involving Russia to remain unrevealed, and this lunatic Trump to remain unimpeached.”
