We’ve heard for years that society as we know it, will cease to exist. We’ve heard that it’s not natural. Some even speak for God, saying that He hates the very thought of ‘Adam and Steve,’ when I thought He had bigger fish to fry. Look, here’s Captain America. No one seems to feel that their own marriage will now be demeaned somehow, an argument we’ve heard for years. If actions taken by Republicans have not trivialized marriage, it appears that Americans feel that the institution can survive the union of loving same-sex couples. In fact, no one Susie speaks to seems to care, with the exception of the angry looking kid in the last frame, who hasn’t been asked…And I suspect his concerns center more on ice cream than on gay marriage. Maybe America is growing up?
