John OliverĀ has a few words to say about the Supreme Court;”America’s most respected assisted living community.” Franky, Republicans stole Justice Antonin Scalia’s seat from Merrick Garland who was nominated eleven months ago. Now ‘aggressively Caucasian’ Neil Gorsuch has been nominated to take Scalia’s seat. This leaves Last Week Tonight in a bit of a pickle. As you may know, Last Week Tonight uses an all-dog court to reenact Supreme Court arguments because cameras are not allowed in the court room. Adorable canine ‘Molly’ had been selected to represent Merrick, but now, Last Week Tonight is in the regrettable position of finding an animal to represent Gorsuch on the show.
Because the appointment of Gorsuch under such circumstances is a historical aberration, he’s not getting a dog. Gorsuch is getting a lobster. It will be Paws and Claws from now on! It is up to us to decide which lobster will sit on Last Week Tonight’s canine Supreme Court.
