At first glance, one would think that the cartoonist had a knack for getting a great likeness, and possessed a wild imagination. After all, what man who claimed to have been called by God would use hate, fear and manipulation to gain power and wealth? Surely the artist created this despicable toad’s actions and personality, if not his face!
As it turns out, the artist didn’t have to make up a single one of the atrocious actions attributed to Newt. Just insert "Allah" for "God" in his statements and there isn’t a nickel’s worth of difference between him and the evil men of the Taliban is there? They lie about their piety too and use the shield of religion for their gain – while closing their eyes and ears to the suffering they cause.
Disclaimer: This is not intended to present Christians in a bad light by implying
that Newt’s facile use of ‘God’ is a sign of Christianity. The same may be said of the use of ‘Allah’ by the Taliban who certainly do not represent Muslims…But you knew that.
