Polls show most Americans don’t want anything to do with this, or any intervention in the Middle East any more at all. But Congress and the President are beyond public opinion when it comes to national defense. Defense? I have always contended that the Department of Defense should be renamed the Department of Offense.
So in both Syria and Egypt we are going to take the side of al Qaeda, the Taliban, Muslim Brotherhood and Sharia Law. What did we accomplish in Iraq? I know it isn’t front page, but in most newspapers, most everyday we can read of 50 or so people killed by… What’s that called again? Oh yeah, sectarian violence. RELIGION.
Perhaps we should all take my lead in this which I began over 30 years ago. Disengage from anything emanating from the Middle East. When it comes up, stop listening, change the channel, turn the page. It’s a horrible place where murder, war, torture and terrorism are played out everyday because of magic in the dirt. Bad magic at that.
