As the conflict between Trump supporters and protesters in Chicago continues, Donald Trump spoke to Don Lemon, and told him “I have no regrets” when Lemon reminded him of incendiary remarks he has made recently during rallies.
Lemon presented Trump with the recent litany of phrases he has spoken to crowds, which include telling people they should ‘knock the crap out of a protester,” and saying that he would pay the legal fees. He also expressed a desire to ‘punch a protester right in the face’ and lamented that they couldn’t just take them out on stretchers, like the good old days.
While Trump didn’t deny saying those things, he did paint a very different picture, saying that it was the protesters who were violent, certainly not his embattled followers! I trust no one else saw the Muslim woman swinging at peaceful Trump rally attendees. Trump claims that his vantage point enables him see the brutish protesters violently striking out at his peaceful crowd. If anyone is hustled out of dealt with roughly he assured Lemon, it is the police who do it,not his crowd of sucker-punching rabble. Reports from Trump followers seem to forward the narrative. According to one such follower, the Twitter feed was swept of all evidence of protester violence this evening. Another posted a video in which he claims a violent group of Bernie Sanders followers were terrorizing the crowd.
