Just when you thought our gun laws may find a bit more sanity it’s going the opposite direction.
"I wish there had been one more guns that day in hands of a responsible person." Trent Franks R-AZ. This is a sentiment often stated by the ‘arm everyone’ crowd. In this instance,there was a ‘responsible person’ with a gun on the scene. He admits to very nearly shooting one of those who had taken the shooter down.
The NRA ramble continues, with Louie Gohmert introducing a bill so all members of Congress can carry guns around the Capitol and in the House. Presumably this will prove to be a time saver if the Tea Party fad of dueling catches on.
Of course it’s more important to at least ban assault weapons, and limit clips to 10 rounds. That is what is called a ‘slippery slope’ toward gun control by the NRA. Let’s see if our lawmakers can legislate protection of a sort for us, as well as themselves.
