Jimmy Kimmel reads some of the heated and ridiculous comments he received in response to a climate change piece he aired earlier this week, leaving me to wonder why some find it easy to believe Sarah Palin but impossible to believe 97% of the scientists in the world? Some things we’re just not meant to know. The episode on climate change is on this blog.
Kimmel was prompted to take on the issue, in part by Sarah Palin’s sponsored endorsement of the film ‘Climate Hustle’ and a disturbing trend by many to paint the issue as a Left versus Right argument. It is too far of a reach to expect people to see that politicians who receive money from large corporations, might encourage them to line up behind Palin and point fingers at the nefarious Left. Even Bill Nye has been reduced to a ‘kid’s show entertainer’ on par scientifically with Sarah Palin!
Like many good deeds, Jimmy’s didn’t go unpunished. Unimpressed by the top scientists in the country, some viewers made their displeasure known. I can feel Jimmy’s frustration at being lambasted for telling the truth. At one point he nearly throws up his hands and says;
” You know, some of it got me kind of mad reading through it–the ignorance. But now I’m kind of okay with global warming wiping out the human race…Turns out, we deserve it.”
One tends to think the same thing about Trump, but we’ll be around to see the ultimate consequences of that mistake.
