“Oh, well, if 97 percent of all scientists believe that man’s activities are creating changes in the weather, who am I to question that,” asks Sarah Palin sarcastically, failed sarcasm aside, EXACTLY.
So the lie of global warming is being perpetrated by a vast liberal conspiracy that goes on and on because tens of millions of Americans actually believe that Fox News is fair and balanced (that is not sarcasm) and that Rush Limbaugh, talk radio, WorldNetDaily, the Blaze and Drudge et al are the actual news. Every other news source involves a liberal conspiracy to… Um… Um… Have the federal government take their jobs and their money and give it to Chinamen, Mexicans, lazy Negroes and give homos free reign to our ladies bathrooms. And there you have it.
Remember 97% of scientists who say otherwise are from the world-over which means the entire world is involved in this great liberal conspiracy, even Iran. Looking at the worldwide polls we find the vast majority of Latin America, Europe, Africa, India and the Pacific Rim accept man made global warming, only the Middle East, China and the Republican party are in denial. I suppose that a few thousand years of religious rubble making and little else in the Middle East gives those people bigger things to worry about, and it’s always been too hot there. China I don’t quite understand. Perhaps they accept the Communist Party News as the truth just as so many here accept Fox News as the truth.
We often conflate creationism to the denial of climate change, but denying evolution only makes people look even more stupid than they are. On the other hand denying global warming kills everyone including the planet itself.
If you recall, God killed everyone on the planet once before, anger over something to do with men doing lady stuff, which was nice, so if he wants to do it again, good for him, who am I to question God?
This also brings up an even greater horror, almost half of Americans believe they are living in the End Times, that they will actually experience the end of the world and the death of 7 billion people. They are hoping for that. So what’s it matter the how of it? That’s not a few nutcases living in Tulsa, Oklahoma, that is over 100 million Americans. And if they can believe that, they can believe anything.
But as to Global Warming, how can they deny what is right in front of them to see and feel and experience? Like most crazyass crap the Republican Base chooses to believe, they just do not have the intellectual capacity to think things out beyond a soundbite or two. The list of crazyass crap they choose to believe is long and silly; creationism, Obama the Muslim, supply side economics, the WWE, climate change hoax, need for bathroom police and of course abortion.
On that last one in a recent argument I found that they are just not intellectually able to get past what happens to millions of women if they do manage to overturn Roe v Wade. The deaths, the suicides, the butchery, the beatings, the pain, the anguish and about a million more unwanted children a year they will have to help support.
