I find it unsurprising that Mike Huckabee has made his hate of gay men and women so much the centerpiece of his politics and humanity, after all, that is what evangelical Christianity has become. Oh, that’s right, he also completely ignores the health, safety, well being and rights of women regarding abortion. That side of the equation – whether the gay person or the pregnant person – is never discussed by such people. Such nice kindly Christian issues which Jesus Christ never spoke one word about.
Which brings up the point of why we had 16 Republican candidates running for president. Those playing specifically to the Republican base know damn well they cannot win the general election and are only in it to sell themselves to Fox News, talk radio, publishers, conservative think tanks and jobs for their right-wing friends, family and leaving with a wad of donation money.
Which is the case for Mike Huckabee, Ben Carson, Rick Santorum, Bobby Jindal, Ted Cruz and Carly Fiorina. Donald Trump knows he cannot win a general election either, but he is in it just for the narcissism.
