In a national poll taken this week asking Americans who they would vote for president in 2012, Sarah Palin and Newt Gingrich beat President Obama 46% to 45%. With polls showing an even higher percentage of Americans voting for Republicans this year for Congress and the Senate, it seems Americans have lost their minds. Or is it that Americans are really just a gang of stupid intolerant bigots? Or are Fox News, AM talk radio and the Tea Party juggernaut more powerful media entities than previously believed? Or more hopefully – to keep many of us from either shooting ourselves or emigrating to a kinder smarter place like Somalia – the polling phone calls were all in area codes from Mississippi, Utah and Idaho.
What Americans want is to go back to more wars without reason – so their children have compelling reasons to die in the sand – repeal health care so if their children are wounded or ill they can call Dr. Dre, to repeal the newly passed financial regulations hoping the bankers will give us full fledged depression next time rather than just a double dip recession, deregulate deep water oil drilling because oil covering the gulf is "natural", and most importantly, to get rid of Americans with funny sounding names and enough guns in restaurants and bars, rock concerts, sports arenas and NASCAR races to keep it that way. Alert! Alert! racism has nothing to do with any of this! And saying it does makes racists say angry racist things!
We are up on our Beckisms, Palinisms and still remember our George W Bushisms pretty well, but many may have forget just what an ego-maniacal creepy crawler and Mr Wrong Newt Gingrich was/is. What we are experiencing today is the same thing that happened in 1994 after the Clintons tried AND FAILED to pass Health Care legislation (which like Obama’s passed plan, included Negroes) . So expect Americans to be even angrier this time because it actually passed.
