Obama on Terror: A Closer Look - Late Night with Seth Meyers - video

Seth Meyers takes the week in terror, from the GOP reaction to President Obama’s address to media frenzy in the aftermath of the San Bernadino shootings, and wraps it up with a wry observation and a joke or two for the deserving.

Among the deserving is the media who stormed into the San Bernadino shooter’s apartment, like shoppers at Walmart on Black Friday, jostling, pushing and searching for meaning in everyday objects like a ‘Dream Baby’ Doll – which one reporter may have smuggled out in his pants.

More deserving are  Jeb Bush and others who excoriated the President for omitting the words “Muslim Terrorists” from his  address. President Obama used the following words; extremists, terrorists, and Muslims in every other possible combination – and often. As Seth observes, he didn’t say them in the precise order, as if casting a spell…So maybe it doesn’t ‘count.’

According to  Republican candidates Marco Rubio and Mike Huckabee, the focus should be on  unregulated bombs and pencils that can be wielded with deadly intent, not guns!  That’s right, and crazy talk like that may win you fans among the gun-toting crowd, but the rest of us don’t want to face a cooling off period before purchasing a 2H pencil.
