The Witch Hunt for Election 2016 – Betty Bowers

This Election's Witch Hunt - Betty Bowers

We won’t have Ted Cruz to kick around for awhile, but his phony hysteria over transgender folks lurking in the Ladie’s is a fitting legacy for him, and it illustrates one of our national pastimes, the Witch Hunt. If you thought witch hunts faded into oblivion along with the sour, dour and sanctimonious pilgrims, you’ll be surprised to hear that the witch hunt plays an enormous part in politics today, even in our presidential race.

When people care about the next world more than this one, it’s easy to see why climate change, fracking, clean water and alternative power hold  no interest for them.   In other words, anything that is made up – like a witch, is the best method for keeping people’s attention on phony threats, so they don’t even think about real issues which may not fit with a politician’s agenda. This is why transgender is the witch-bogey man of the 2016 race.

It’s accepted practice among the sleazy to rev emotion by pairing the current witch with rape. As we now know, rape in a bathroom is what transgender people live for…According to Ted. Also on the rape bus are Mexicans, gay men and  black men. Taking turns being a witch are lesbian women, Muslims, communists, atheists, various religions and even women – particularly if they possess a ‘woman card’ like the one Hillary is sending me in the mail. I can’t wait to see the list of entitlements on back of the card!

People who go witch hunting may be horribly misinformed, but just think of the priggish superiority that comes of judging  entire groups of people. It’s a trade-off people have been making for thousands of years – but transgender bathrooms, really?
