So many scandals GOP dazed and confused, Priggee

gop dazed and confused

So much scandal overload at once has the GOP dazed and confused. As expected they are speaking too soon and overreaching.

Benghazi

This week we find that the ABC reporter who broke the email smoking gun coverup story had edited and paraphrased the emails to make it look like a political coverup by the State Department. He was caught by CNN Jake Trapper. No liberal there. About time CNN did something worth a crap.

Also we find that both GOP House Leaders on the Benghazi investigation – both of whom are talking Impeachment proceedings – Darrell Issa and Jason Chaffetz, voted consistently to cut funding to State Department security.

An email from Ambassador Christopher Stevens was brought forward this week in which he specifically turns down any need for added security at the Benghazi Embassy.

Bottom Line – This issue is political in nature and everyone knows it, including the voting public.  With the overreach the GOP has more than likely done themselves more harm than good on this one.

AP Phone Taps

This is probably the most serious of the scandals, but it has it’s legs in not only the Bush Administration, primarily Dick Cheney, but also in the Patriot Act which is the baby of the GOP. The Republican Party are the ones who hate the press and want them monitored and THROWN IN JAIL for security breaches. Which is exactly what this is.

This one needs some time to find out what the ‘serious terrorist threat’ was to cause phone tapping.

Bottom line – The GOP hypocrisy goes beyond the pale on this one.  For them to pound it like they have Benghazi could also cause them more harm than good with the voting public.

IRS singling out the Tea Party

This is the one to worry about.  No one likes the IRS to start with.  Even though it seems to be contained within one office of the IRS, there was a coverup but again confined within the IRS.

The problem of course is that since 2009 – when a black guy moved into the White House and the subsequent rise of the Tea Party and the accompanying aluminum hat extremism taking over the GOP, our government no longer works.  No matter massive firings, or  smoking gun beyond the IRS, what this does is give the TEA PARTY credibility and a stronger arm in the GOP.  It is a big big win for Michele Bachmann, Louie Gohmert, Paul Broun, Rand Paul, Ted Cruz, Mike Lee, Steve King, Ted Nugent and Hitler!  It will more than likely stop immigration reform or any other congressional compromise of any kind as they now see themselves in control of both the House and the Senate.

So with that all said, the hope is the GOP will not be able help themselves from their  barking morons, or retracting their fangs and and nasty nature and overplay, overreach  into canceling all this out before  next election cycle. Of course they will spend about a billion dollars on ads blaring all three of these things, but  it may do far less good than they think.
