One of the big flaws in the Pro Life movement – other than the rights of real people trumping the rights of potential people – is that if they were to succeed in once again criminalizing abortions, instead of about a million safe regulated abortions a year, there would be about 800,000 unregulated, unsafe chop shop abortions a year. Not counting the self induced botches and suicides.
And where does this crap even come from? Jesus had nothing to say about it, and it was Christian Protestants who fought for abortion rights leading to Roe v Wade. What happened is in the late 1970’s Jerry Falwell and company decided to use the issue to politicize religion. They took the issue to Republican Ronald Reagan who ran with it. Adding religious bullcrap to a political system already corrupted by money and racism. And here we are.
