Is there any reason to believe that the 8th President will accomplish any damn thing changing our addiction to oil?
Why have so many failed so miserably? These days it is the Cap and Trade bill that REPUBLICAN IDEOLOGY AND POLICY will not let pass. Cap and Trade is a middle of the road ideal to placate Republicans when it should be a direct tax. Republicans have lots of other enemies in this area including OSHA, the EPA, the DNR and most importantly Al Gore and all environmentalists.
Soon after moving into the White House, Republican President Ronald Reagan removed the regulatory teeth from OSHA and the EPA and had the solar panels Democrat Jimmy Carter had put on the roof removed. That sent the message hey?
Republicans have marched against Clean Air, Clean Water and consider all issues of a healthy environment either socialism or communism (green on the outside red on the inside). In fact Republicans refuse to accept facts or science when it comes to Global Warming, Climate Change or evolution.
Sadly, most Americans still want to keep on DRILL BABY DRILLING with Sister Sarah as they are are against big government and government regulations. Most Americans are DUMB AS FRIGGING MUD.
A reminder that the people of Texas, Louisiana, Mississippi and Alabama voted for drilling in the Gulf of Mexico. They consistently vote for rabid conservative Republicans who promote deregulation, and taking the bite out of OSHO, the DNR, and the EPA. This includes not only the oil industry but commercial fishing as well. Neither are friends of the environment by any means.
Without considering these states propensity to shoot doctors in the back, their religious intolerance, their homophobia, bigotry and racism, the Redneck Riviera can kiss my ass. It’s Florida that will become the issue because they did not ask for this while the other four states asked for this which they got boo frigging hoo.
One last thing. The thing the media cannot say – I don’t know why we are having such a cow about this oil spill, after all it concerns mostly WHITE PEOPLE so it will all be taken care of timely and efficiently.
