Hey! Good to see a billionaire lending a hand rather than comparing Democrats to NAZIs wanting to put them in ovens like the Jews.
I am not so sure this kind of sarcasm works. It’s much like hypocrisy which no longer matters. How many who watch this believe the ranting is true and just what they want to believe? A lot? Or Most?
When I saw VP Joe Biden whisper in to President Obama’s ear when he was signing the ACA that “this is a big friggin deal” I understood that to mean it was a stepping stone to single payer system down the road. Now I am not too sure.
You see, even those promoting the universal health care have to use the term SINGLE PAYER rather than PAYROLL TAX. Or MANDATORY, or MANDATE.
The answer to this is very simple. There are scores of nations who have a single payer payroll taxed universal health care system that have better outcomes at half the cost of our system. Which the vast majority of people in those countries accept and enjoy, with no political hope of going back. And there I suppose is the rub. After all, Republicans are still trying to destroy Social Security, Medicare and Medicaid to no avail.
Why can’t we pick one of the systems that fit us best? Most systems are a hybrid of government controlled payroll tax that is paid out to existing private health insurance companies who administer it through a non profit system. They make their profits in supplemental plans and other areas.
So we give everyone basic health care AND preventative health care with Republicans able to support their insurance companies by buying supplemental Cadillac plans? But no, ideology of free markets and FK YOU prevail as the core of Republican politics.
