Jesus endorses tax cuts for the rich, and unbridled materialism on his birthday. These are among the few solid ideas I gleaned from Matt Lauer’s interview/book peddling opportunity with Sarah Palin.
If someone would like to have a go at explaining Palin’s anualysis of the ‘socialist’ health care problem in this country, please be my guest. Palin’s confused anualysis of a “free market, patient centered plan” that Republicans want – if only they could be allowed some ‘time for debate and discussion’ – is mind blowing and migraine inducing.
The attitude many Republicans have expressed is that health care is a finite resource. If it is shared with everyone, there won’t be enough for those who truly deserve it – like Dick Cheney. Just when you need it, some poor, non-contributing degenerate or illegal will snatch it up!
All of that ‘stuff’ was just the peas and carrots Palin had to wade through to get to the good part – her book plug. Here we learn that an “atheist with an attorney is telling us we can’t celebrate Christmas.” Outrageous! Who is that guy?
The very heart of Christmas is under assault, claims Palin.
If – like Lauer, you assumed the ‘heart’ of Christmas was joy and goodwill toward men, and the point of the tome is that the sacred day is overshadowed by commercialism, you’re wrong…And you’ll want to pin a medal on that fictional atheist I mentioned earlier. You see, that is not the gist of Palin’s book at all. In fact she exclaims “I love the commercialism!” Heaven forbid that any old atheist with an attorney attack that sacred belief!
